“After some deep exploring, I have found treasures not hidden but placed visible there by myself long ago in the hope that I would come this way again with the awareness that I have been this way before and that these treasures in the deep dark soil of my being are sign posts along the Path back to Self.”
~ James Elston 2017

In traveling to the Sacred Valley of Peru in 2016 with Gray Jeffrey and Victoria Bliss I had an intention to reconnect to my roots in art, something that had been missing from my life since I was seduced with the power of the Internet in the late 1990s and the tools that seemed to make so much of what I knew up to that point to be passe.

Peru was life-changing for me as it is for a lot of people.  The wide open majesty, the pristine raw beauty, the art of the people of the Incan culture who carved their living spaces into and up the slopes of the Andes Mountains. I experienced a foreign culture for the first time. (Well, except for Los Angeles). Traveling with friends and new found friends.

It took me a long time  to get back to my roots. It didn’t turnout to be what I expected. It has become a melding of Digital and Physical art.
